Pool Equipment Repairs We Perform

Most pool problems trace back to one or more of five core systems. Here’s what typically fails and why it matters:

Pool Pumps
Worn seals, clogged impellers, and electrical faults are the most common causes of pump failure. When a pump can’t circulate water properly, water chemistry deteriorates, and the entire system suffers.

Pool Filters
Cartridge, sand, and DE filters all develop issues that keep them from clearing the water. High pressure gauge readings or persistently cloudy water despite normal chemical levels are the usual signs that service is needed.

Pool Heaters
Ignition failures, faulty sensors, and gas-line issues are what cut a swim season short. A heater that won’t hold temperature or produces a gas smell near the equipment pad needs prompt attention.

Pool Plumbing
Underground leaks develop from cracked pipes or fittings and typically show up as unexplained water loss. Pinpointing the source before digging is critical to keeping the repair scope manageable.

Salt Systems & Automation Controls
Salt chlorination systems and automation panels lose calibration or develop component failures over time. Error codes and inconsistent readings are the clearest sign that repair is needed.

Bucket Test: Confirming a Leak Before You Call

Not all water loss points to a leak. Evaporation, especially during low-humidity periods, can remove a meaningful amount of water from an open pool surface. Wind and normal swimming push water out, and backwashing a filter removes many gallons on its own. Before scheduling a repair visit, the bucket test can confirm whether your pool is actually losing more water than expected.

How to run the test:

  • Bring the pool to its normal operating level
  • Fill a 5-gallon bucket with pool water to 3–4 inches from the top and set it on a pool step
  • Mark the water level inside the bucket and mark the pool level on the outside
  • Resume normal pump operation and check after 24 hours
  • Compare the two levels to within 1/16 of an inch

If the pool lost substantially more water than the bucket, you may have a leak. Repeat the test with the pump off for 24 hours. If the variance disappears, the leak may be in the plumbing or equipment rather than the shell.
